With the economy still in a downward spiral, many industries are now stepping up to the trough hoping congress will give them a piece of the pie.

After completing some research on the situation the auto-industry is in, form an opinion on wether you believe the government should use tax dollars to help prevent the auto-industry from going under. Make sure you explain why you think the way you do. Be sure to support your answer.

I don't think they should use the bailout money for the big car industries. They will end up doing the same thing as AIG and have the big wigs of the company go on vactions.
ReplyDeleteI think they should because auto industrys are going under. I understand that if the goverment is going to bailout indursties they need to bailout the rest of the industries. The bailout should be past but to only little expects.
ReplyDeleteWhats next? First, it was the banks, and I was okay with that, because it wasn't just going to help the banks, it was going to help everyone. My only concern is what are they going to do with it? Make bigger and better cars that will only cost more? How about cutting workers deals and using that money to pay for the rest of it?
ReplyDeleteAnd, who next, will ask to get help from our taxpayers money?? I wonder, fast food places needing more burgers, or Walmart suddenly goes down. Tons of companies go down every day, and everday companies thrive. Some even start new businesses. If everyone who had a business fail asked for money, no one would learn to take responsibility and figure it out. If your company goes under, you are obviously doing something wrong. Figure it out, and do it yourself. What if the government stops helping???
In my opinion we should help the car industry. If we don't look at all the families that won't be getting income because they got fired and lost their job. But with this new plan maybe GM should make cars that don't suck on gas. That is one of the reasons why they have went under. With the way the economy is people are cutting back on expenses and gas is one of them. We all need to start working together as a nation instead of everyone trying to work by themselves becasue they think they are better than the other person.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually something I didn't think would happen. The auto-industry bail-out are you kidding me?! No we absolutely should not use tax dollars for something like this. Its not that big of deal, we should take care of more important things first before we start spending money foolishly. I do not understand why their tax dollars should go to support what they consider less efficient businesses. I also think it would be wise for the auto-industry just to file for bankruptcy and start all over.

i think its crap because the bailouts are going to people who are putting themselves into debt. and there just going to do it again.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that the government should give the auto companies and relief. Their ceo's choose to spend their money unwisely as, by flying private jets instead of flying on commercial airlines. The fact is that they are trying to get our tax dollars so they can make even more money, that is wrong. They should cut back their sallaries and pay their workers more, maybe then they will prosper again.
ReplyDeletethe big 3 auto makers need a lot of money for loans and other things, they will go out of buisness if they dont get the money. but i dont think they should get our hard earned tax dollars, because they dont even use the money they have left to good use. they flew in on privet jets that cost them thousands of dollars. i think they need to figure it out on their own.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it sould be paid with our taxes, because it can't go too bad for their managers if they all come in seperated private jets! Seriously they should look where to save money and where not. And just because the economy is not going very good you can't take the money of tax payers, who worked hard to have some money left! They should take a bit of their millions of dollars, so maybe then they have to take a private jet together and not everybody seperated but not spend the taxes we could do other stuff with!

ReplyDeleteI don't think they should use tax money to bail them out becausetheir CEO's are making $28million and won't take a pay cut to save the industry.The CEO's don't show much pride in their industry they are arrogant and greedy because they won't give up a little money to bailout their own industry.
ReplyDeleteThe auto industry should not get the bail out, becuase they got themselves into a big prolem and they should have to get themselves out of it. We shouldnt use our tax dollars on this, if we use the tax dollars we should atleast use them on something important...
