You Choose! (Blog #22)

With so many different events and world issues to choose from, it is now up to you to decide which one interests you the most.

Your assignment:

Pick a current event, an article on a particular topic or a world issue. Briefly state what it is about, then where you stand or your opinion on the matter. Once you have completed this first part, then find two other classmates to comment/respond to. Remember the posting rules and be respectful.

First 100 Days! (Blog #21)

With Barack Obama becoming the 1st African American, and 44th President to be sworn into office many say the expectations are very, very high. With this in mind, he will have to prove to the American citizens within the first 100 days that change is, in fact, upon us.

Your Assignment:

Research the plans Obama and his administration have for the first 100 days. Identify at least two policies that he plans on pushing through and explain. Also, state your opinion on each policy.

Rod Blagojevich (Blog #20)

With the Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama under so much scrutiny, it will be interesting to see what will happen with the controversy surrounding Rod Blagojevich.

Your Assignment:

Research the situation with regard to Blagojevich. Then state what your opinion is on how Blagojevich is handling this situation? What will and is happening to him in the Illinois senate? What do the citizens that voted him into office have to say about the situation? Will he be able to lead even if he is acquited with such a low approval rating? Explain.

(Welcome Back!!!) Conflict in Israel (Blog #19)

The Middle East, more specifically Israel, is no stranger to conflict. However, this round of battles is different purely based on the situations surrounding it.

1.)Research the history of this conflict and summarized your findings.
2.)State the groups involved and then compare and contrast the differences of each group and what they stand for.
